ADVERB(biord): siger noget om tid(when), sted(where), måde(how) og grad(why).

An adverb is a word that tells us more about a verb.

An adverb "qualifies" or "modifies" a verb (The man ran quickly). But adverbs can also modify adjectives (Tara is really beautiful), or even other adverbs (It works very well).

Modify a verb:
- John speaks loudly. (How does John speak?)
- Mary lives locally. (Where does Mary live?)
- She never smokes. (When does she smoke?)

Modify an adjective:
- He is really handsome. / He was enormously fat / He was very tired / I'm not so sure.

Modify another adverb:
- She drives incredibly slowly.
- He returned very quickly.

1. You can see that we add "-ly" to the end of the adjective root of a word:
- quickly, beautifully, easily, happily, willingly, melodically
- Pas på en del tillægsord ender også på ly (kindly, friendly, elderly, lovely, lonely, motherly, , neighborly)

2. ÆGTE BIORD: well, very, often, still, almost, perhaps, never, again, now, here, too, always, ever, also, just, only, even, osv

3. Some adjectives and adverbs are spelt the same way: low, fast, straight, hard, extra, doubtless, high, late and long.

The adverb of the adjective bad is badly but the adverb of the adjective good is well.
